Cory Mikesell started playing chess during his sophomore year in high school and made rapid progress, taking 2nd in the high school championship of Ohio during his senior year. Cory received his National Master title in 2010 and won the Parma Chess Club Championship in 2011. Cory is an experienced teacher and has been teaching chess for almost 5 years, working with students of all ages and abilities. Outside of chess, Cory is an avid writer and has competed in the National Poetry Slam held annually. He is also pursuing degrees in both Psychology and Anthropology.
