Mr. Reeves is a National Chess Expert, who has been a part of the Cleveland chess scene for more than 40 years. Mike was the captain of the Ebony Knights Chess Team whose members included Cleveland’s best African- American chess players. A recently retired postal employee, he was undefeated on board one for the post office chess team. Reeves has victories over four former state champions, and once battled Grandmaster Anatoly Lein for over seven hours before conceding! Mr. Reeves has worked with Progress With Chess for seven years and has coached both Shaker Heights High School and Shaker Middle School to state championships. Mr. Reeves is available for private instruction.
