Sunday Chess Classes 2026 Fall Sessions Coming Soon!

Our Premier Chess Training Program for Students in Grades K-12

These programs are staffed by US Chess Federation Experts and Masters, as well as seasoned Tournament Directors who have played a part in facilitating a number of national chess championships.  Students from these programs have gone on to play chess through high school and college, to compete in and win a number of tournaments.  Available at locations in Beachwood, Lakewood, and Kent!

Three course options available for students of all skill levels:

 

BEAUTIFUL BEGINNING‬‭ (K-8): a great way to nurture your child’s interest in the game of chess. Your‬ child will thrive in our supportive small group setting. Students will learn the moves of the‬ pieces, all the rules, and be able to play a legal game of chess with friends and family‬ members.

FANTASTIC FOUNDATION (K-8)‬: perfect for students who already know the basic rules and are looking to acquire the necessary skills to be successful in tournament play. Students will learn basic‬ tactics, strategy, checkmates, chess notation, and how to use a chess clock.  Classmates will‬ engage in open play under tournament conditions.‬

‭CHAMPIONSHIP CHALLENGE (K-12)‬: for experienced tournament players or those who are ready to enter competitions. Sessions will include two USCF rated tournament games, with analysis by‬ Progress with Chess Experts and Masters, along with interactive lessons.‬‭ Free one-year USCF membership included‬ for new members or players with expired memberships! Participants‬ will be divided into groups by USCF rating or playing strength.
