Online Chess Class Instructive and fun!
After School Online Chess Class Description
Progress With Chess (PWC) offers online chess classes after school for grades 1-8. Class will be conducted for one hour after school on the designated day of the week. All skill levels welcome!
The classes are conducted on Zoom and ChessKid.com. Progress With Chess provides as many instructors as are needed with an approximate 10:1 student-teacher ratio. If a large number of students enroll, they will be divided into groups according to their level of play. PWC will provide all online resources, instructional materials and curriculum.
Classes consist of interactive chess lessons on Zoom and an online chess demonstration board, reinforced by group problem solving and live supervised online play on ChessKid, a safety first chess website for kids. All participants will receive a ChessKid gold account ($49 value) at no additional charge for the duration of the session.

What is Needed
1. Computer or tablet (smart phone also possible)
2. ChessKid gold account (provided by PWC at no add’l cost)
3. Zoom (also free)
Online Chess Class on Zoom and ChessKid
The session will begin with a LIVE chess lecture on Zoom. Zoom provides online video communication. Students can raise their hand, speak with audio, or communicate in the chat. A chess.com analysis demo board will be used.
After the lecture, students will remain in Zoom, but also log onto ChessKid using their account provided. They will be connected with other students in the class and will play Live games against their classmates! The instructor will have access to all the games in real time and can make live commentary. The instructor also has the ability to pair up students for games, Puzzle Duel, and challenges against chess robots.
