Public After School Programs Provided in partnership with Cleveland Metropolitan and Akron Public Schools

Progress With Chess hosted after school programs at 27 public schools during the 2022-2023 school year, which were free for students to attend.  Our premier chess club experience includes instruction for students of all skill levels, workbooks and puzzles, and guided play.  At the end of each season, students receive medals for their participation and improvement in our classes.  Over the course of the 2022-2023 school year, 70 gently used chess sets were donated to students who took part in our CMSD and APS programs.

In addition to our schools, Progress With Chess also facilitates a chess club for youth at the Cuyahoga County Juvenile Detention Center, where 10 gently used chess sets were donated.

Programs are provided thanks to the generous support of our donors, and we thank Cleveland Play House and Reach Success for allowing us to facilitate our clubs in their school programs.
