Peter Andreas Bios

Born in Canada, Peter Andreas spent part of his early childhood in Germany, where he learned chess at age seven. Peter speaks German fluently, and has traveled frequently to many countries, both as a civilian and while on active duty in the Navy. He is a certified CPR instructor, who has worked for the Naval Reserves, Red Cross, and American Heart Association. Peter recently retired from the Navy Reserves after 26 years of service. His interests include sports, metaphysics, science, and spiritual studies.

Peter began  playing  chess competitively at age seventeen in Norwich, Connecticut. In 1985, Peter won the Hawaii Navy Sports Conference Chess Championship, and became a National Chess Expert. Peter is a certified U.S. Chess Federation tournament director, and has been teaching professionally with Progress With Chess since 2000.
