The first event of the 2026-2027 Greater Cleveland Scholastic Chess League!
9 Sections for all skill levels - Friendly competition, great value, and flexible options.
Schedule and Format: 4 Round Swiss. Doors Open: 8:30am, 1st Game: 10am Sharp.
Estimated completion: U400, U800, U1000 Sections: 2:00. Championship, U1600 & U1200: 3:30.
All play 4 games, no elimination. Recording of moves is not required for players in U400 and
U800. Unrated players may choose any grade appropriate section.
Time limit: Championship U1600 & U1200: G/30; d5. All other sections: G/25; d5.
Awards: Trophies to top 5 players in each section at each event, and all players scoring 3 or more points. Participation medals to all players after each event!
Team Awards: Team trophies will be presented to the top 3 school teams in each section at the last event, based on the accumulated scores from the best three tournaments.
Team scores at each event are determined in each section by adding the best 4 individual scores per school.
Scholarship Prizes: $1,500 awarded; determined by adding the scores from each player’s best three events. Championship: 1st Place $1,000, 2nd Place $500.
