Local National Master William Wright drew with GM Alexandr Lenderman (NY) in the Halloween Treat online chess tournament held on Halloween (Oct. 31, 2020).  Both players tied for first in the Open section with 3.5 points. Nirav Natha (NV) and Andy Yueduo Xu (CA) tied for third place in the section with 3 points each.

A total of 39 players participated in three sections in the Halloween Treat, held online on lichess.org. Of these, 16 came from out of state. 

Congratulations to Gaurav Kumar Gupta (CA) who took clear first in the U-1200 Section with a perfect 4.0 score. Pranit Nitin Pandhard (CA), Thomas Nordeman (PA) and Hasini Gattikoppula (OH) split second place with 3.0.  Isaiah Becker (WI) took clear first in the U-700 section with a 3.5 score. Vanek Smith (OH) took clear second with 3.0, and Finn Robert Rourke (OH) and Coreen Nichole Jansen (FL) tied for third with 2.5.  For full results, click here.

The tournament was rated under the United States Chess Federation (USCF) Online Standard system and did not affect over the board ratings.
