A booming thank you to all those who attended The Online Scholastic Sparkler on Saturday, July 11th at 1pm EST on chess.com!   Despite nice Ohio weather, we had 42 scholastic players dazzle us with their moves at this event.   Ten players scored 3 points (2.5 required for Championship section) which means they will received customized trophies mailed to their homes.  Order goes in today so those will be received the the end of the week.  The sparkler drew more interest from the across the nation than our online tournaments.  Eighteen of the entries came from other states; most notably California (5 entries) and Virginia (4 entries).

The results are below, and we will rate this event on Wednesday after the chess.com algorithm checks over the games.  The Sparkler Crosstable will have full results and rating changes.  Congrats to Hansen Song who is our Sparkler Champion.  Hansen took clear first in the Championship Section and is the winner of a $100 scholarship.  But he wasn’t alone, congrats to the winners!
