Top competition, $550 Prize Fund in Collegiate Championship, Great Door Prizes

The 2022 Louisville Scholastic Open will be conducted online on lichess.org.

Eligibility: Collegiate Championship is open to college students age 25 and below, proof of age
required for prize winners. High school, middle or elementary school players may play up if
desired. Players in Collegiate Championship must be on Zoom with side angled camera. High
School, Middle School, and Elementary sections are open to students in the designated grades
levels only, and no Zoom or camera is required.
USCF Rated. USCF membership required, included free with entry for players 19 and under who
are new members or have expired memberships!
8 Sections: Collegiate Championship, HS Championship (9-12), HS Premier (9-12 U1000) MS
Championship (6-8), MS Premier (6-8 U800), Elementary Championship (K-5), Elementary
Premier (K-5 U500), Primary Championship (K-2).
Determining sections: The higher of a player’s USCF Over the Board (OTB) Regular rating and
their USCF Online Regular rating will be used. Unrated or provisionally rated players may be
assigned a rating at the tournament director’s discretion.

Entry Fee: Collegiate Championship $50 till midnight March 18th, $60 after.
Entry Fee Other Sections: $35 till midnight March 18th, $45 after.
Registration: At progresswithchess.org/louisville, closes at 10am EST, March 19th!!

Time Limit: G/25 + 5
5 Rounds: Rounds will be paired and new games will appear 5 minutes after the last game
in each section has been completed. You must be online and on lichess.org to be paired.
Awards: Collegiate Championship: 1st Place $300, 2nd Place $150, 3rd Place $100.
Other Sections: Custom trophies mailed home to all players scoring 3.5 or higher.

Fair Play: All games reviewed. Players using chess engine assistance will be flagged by lichess,
have their games forfeited, and may be reported to the USCF Ethics Committee.
Instructions: Will be emailed to you regarding how to access the tournament on lichess.org, join
the Zoom meeting and setup the camera if required.
