Funding Source for our Programs - Ohio ACE Educational Savings Accounts Eliot Sernau, April 8th, 2023
The Ohio Afterschool Child Enrichment, or ACE, educational savings account program just announced that participants will be receiving an additional $500, now totaling $1000! ACE was created in response to the educational deficit that occurred across the country due to the COVID 19 pandemic. The program serves to provide parents with additional funding they can use to pay for academic opportunities for their children outside of school.
This program is not just for low income families, but for middle-income families as well. The eligibility cap for gross family income was just raised from at or below 300% the federal poverty level, to 400%. If you are at or below in indicated gross family income per family size indicated in the chart below, you may qualify for an ACE account!
Parents can use the $1000 educational savings account to pay for services from Qualified Educational Service Providers, such as Progress with Chess, and can be used to cover registration costs for our after school chess clubs and summer camps! Note: Ohio ACE funding can not be used for competitive events, which includes our tournaments.
